Suzuki has just launched the Jimny in the Vietnamese market and is priced at 789 million VND and comes in 2 versions.
Since 2 years ago, Suzuki Jimny has had information about opening for sale in the Vietnamese market, then there have been appearances and changes to the launch schedule, and now the company has officially announced this model as well. such as quantity and price.
The car has dimensions of length x width x height of 3,625 x 1,645 x 1,720 mm and wheelbase of 2,250 mm. The Suzuki Jimny is positioned in the A-size high chassis segment, but this is a separate chassis SUV so it seems as no competitor can compete directly at the present time.
The notable point of the Suzuki Jimny is its classic boxy design, aggressive tire cavity and hanging rear wheel on the rear door, somewhat similar to legendary off-road vehicles such as the Mercedes-Benz G- Class or Land Rover Defender.
The interior space is also practical with a simple design style, a small cockpit more suitable for two people to use even though the car has a 4-seat configuration. The chair is also covered with felt, mechanically adjusted, the materials are mainly made of hard plastic.
However, compared to the previous privately imported version, the car has a few more amenities such as a 9-inch touch entertainment screen, single-zone automatic air conditioning, automatic throttle and basic connection ports. Notably, the car is imported from Japan instead of India as previously rumored.
Suzuki Jimny is equipped with a 1.5L gasoline engine with 105 horsepower and 134Nm of torque and comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission. In addition, this is also a rare small car model with a 2-wheel drive system and a rigid axle suspension system with 3 links and coil springs, directly connecting the 2 left/right wheels on each front/rear axle.
And with a price of 789 million VND for the one-color version and 799 million VND for the 2-color version, the Suzuki Jimny cannot compete with high-class A-class car models such as Kia Sonet, Toyota Raize, Hyundai Venue. But the majority of customers who buy Suzuki Jimny usually use this as a play car rather than a family car, so buyers of this car model hardly pay much attention to the price.
Despite the high price and little practicality, at the time of launch the car had a relatively large number of customers ordering it. In addition, with limited quantities imported from Japan, buyers have to wait a while instead of getting it right away. With the above factors, the company probably does not have high expectations for sales but instead will aim to promote its brand stronger in the Vietnamese market.
